Founded in 1911

National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) is a public research university in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Founded in Beijing in 1911, it moved to Taiwan after the Chinese Civil War under president Mei Yiqi and was reestablished in 1956. The university remains independent and distinct from Tsinghua University in Beijing.
