🧬 Exploring the phylogenomic diversity of Mammaliicoccus sciuri

This circular phylogenetic tree presents the genomic relationships among 81 M. sciuri genomes, including our isolate S172, with Mammaliicoccus lentus included as the outgroup. The outer colour ring represents isolates recovered from different host groups, including humans, poultry, cattle, pigs, goats, dogs and cats. Our ST243 isolate S172, highlighted in red, was recovered from an accident-related wound at Cumilla Medical College & Hospital, Bangladesh. Its placement within a defined M. sciuri lineage provides valuable context for understanding the genomic diversity and cross-host distribution of this emerging opportunistic bacterium. This analysis forms part of our ongoing comparative genomics and pangenomics study aimed at investigating the population structure, antimicrobial resistance and accessory-genome diversity of M. sciuri from a One Health perspective.
